Session 0: Learning to drive

Hey, I'm Ray. Welcome to North Star AI Academy. This is your starting line. Before you build anything, before you name your business, create your first agent, or produce your first deliverable, you need to learn how to drive. That is what Session 0 is for. A couple of quick rules for the road. First, this is supposed to be fun. I got curious on TikTok and a year later I have real businesses running on AI. I want you to stay curious all the way through. Second, the first week is about getting comfortable, not getting fast. Adjust the mirrors, find the controls, take it around the block a few times. Nobody is racing today. What you will do in this session is have one real conversation with Claude. Not a Google search. Not a one-line question. A back-and-forth where you hand it something small and you work on it together. That is the whole thing. Open Claude. Pick any topic from your life or your business idea. Tell Claude what you are thinking about. Ask it for help organizing your thoughts, brainstorming names, writing a first draft of something. Push back on its first answer. Ask for a different angle. Notice how the conversation changes when you talk to it like a teammate instead of a search engine. A little vocabulary to know going in. A prompt is what you type. A conversation is the back-and-forth. A context window is what Claude can hold in its head at once. A session is a single conversation thread. A SKILL.md file is a teaching agent you will build in Session 2 to give Claude specialized expertise for your business. A restoration file is a document you will build in Session 3 that preserves your work across sessions. You don't need to use any of these terms yet. Just know they are coming. When you are done with this session, mark complete and we will move on to giving your business an identity in Session 1.
